ALL-OUT in Germany
March 15 - 21, 2003

The young people, pastors and people of several churches near the city of Cottbus, Germany, (just south of Berlin) have invited the students of our church to share in an innovative outreach that could dramatically impact one of the most important countries in Europe.

You are invited to make a difference in your world during your 2002 spring break: Go ALL-OUT!!  We are going to live in the homes of the young people of the churches and do what they do:  school, work, athletics, you name it.  That will help everyone share of God’s plan for every life.

You are invited – actually commissioned by Jesus himself – to be a part of this strategic opportunity.  Cost is not a factor: God will provide!  Language is not a barrier: enthusiasm speaks to the heart of every person, beyond the ability of tongue to communicate!  Your availability is the gift God asks. Our youth will combine with English and the German youth to sing in the services.

There will be meetings in November, December, January, February and March to help us get ready.  You will have your own testimony translated into a bilingual witnessing tract.  Translators will be there to help as well.  We will help you prepare, but God will meet your every need.

Itinerary

Saturday, March 15

We will leave this morning from Dallas to Frankfurt, Germany, with a connection in Newark.  You can sleep on the overnight flight.

Sunday, March 16

We will be met at the airport and taken by bus to the church in Cottbus, located about 80 miles south of Berlin.  We will have a commitment and dedication service, and then meet our host churches and families. There will be a time of worship and celebration in three languages: English, German, and music!

Monday, March 17

This morning you will have breakfast with your family and then either go with your partner to their school or participate in some other project like a cleanup/fix up job, or go on evangelism assignments.  Lunch is provided.

In the afternoon, you will go with your partner and share your faith as you go.

Tonight, there will be services in each participating church.  Some churches will have a satellite Pro-Christ broadcast, in which case we will sing and share before the broadcast.

Tuesday, March 18

This morning you will have breakfast with your family and then either go with your partner to their school or participate in a different project from Monday.  Lunch is provided.

In the afternoon, you will again go with your partner and share your faith as you go.

Tonight, the services in each participating church will be as Monday.

Wednesday, March 19

This morning you will have breakfast with your family and then participate in morning projects.  Lunch is provided.

In the afternoon, you will go with your partner and share your faith as you go.

Tonight, there will be final services in each participating church, following a plan similar to the previous days.

Thursday, March 20

This is a day for a big venture.  We will go by bus, with some of our hosts, to Berlin, the capital of Germany.  After sightseeing all day, there will be a joint celebration service at a church in Berlin where we will sing and share

After the service we will return to our homes for good-byes and a short night.

Friday, March 21

We get up early and go by bus to Frankfurt, where we catch back to Dallas via Newark (where we clear customs), arriving about 6:00 pm.  Our bus will bring us back to McKinney, with a sense of accomplishment and obedience and joy for what we will have seen the Lord do this week!

Relationship with the SBC International Mission Board

The local churches in Germany have invited you to come and the missionaries will be pleased to see you add your witness to theirs.  Travel health insurance is provided by the IMB for all volunteers and the cost is included in the program.  This is a cooperative venture with the IMB and will be assigned a Project Number.

Costs and payments

Every effort has been made to keep the costs as low as possible. The cost includes preparation, air travel, bus, homes for accommodations and all meals.  We did secure as many seats to Germany as we have had to Mexico in years past.  Consequently your place is not reserved until a $200 non-refundable deposit has been received by December10th.  All payments are non-refundable!  Payments due on January 10th -$200.00; February 10th- $250.00 and the final balance of $125.00 is due March 10th.  After 50 people have paid their deposit and attended the preparation meetings, a waiting list will be set up for late signup and a $200 deposit is required to be put on that first-come, first-served waiting list.

This mission effort is a tax-deductible donation for tax-purposes.  All checks should be made out to First Baptist Church of McKinney.
