ALL-OUT in Germany

March 6 - 13, 2004

The young people, pastors and people of several churches in and around the city of Magdeburg, Germany, (between Berlin and Hanover) have invited the students of our church to share in an innovative outreach that could dramatically impact one of the most important countries in Europe.

You are invited to make a difference in your world during your 2004 spring break: Go ALL-OUT!! We are going to live in the homes of the young people of the churches and do what they do: school, work, athletics, you name it. That will help everyone share of God’s plan for every life.

You are invited – actually commissioned by Jesus himself – to be a part of this strategic opportunity. Cost is not a factor: God will provide! Language is not a barrier: enthusiasm speaks to the heart of every person, beyond the ability of tongue to communicate! Your availability is the gift God asks. Our youth will combine with people from Austria and other German areas and the local Magdeburg area youth to sing in the services.

There will be meetings in January, February and March to help us get ready. You will have your own testimony translated into a bilingual witnessing tract. Translators will be there to help as well. We will help you prepare, but God will meet your every need.

  • Sunday, March 7
We will catch the train that comes through the Hanover airport and go to Magdeburg, located about halfway between Hanover and Berlin. We will have a short celebration service, and then meet our host churches and families. There will be a time of worship and celebration in three languages: English, German, and Student!
  • Monday, March 8
This morning you will have breakfast with your family and then either go with your partner to their school or go on evangelism assignments. Lunch is provided. In the afternoon, you will go with your partner and share your faith as you go. Tonight, there will be services in each participating church.
  • Tuesday, March 9
This morning you will have breakfast with your family and then either go with your partner to their school or go on another evangelism project. Lunch is provided. In the afternoon, you will again go with your partner and share your faith as you go. Tonight, the services in each participating church will be as Monday.
  • Wednesday, March 10
This morning you will have breakfast with your family and then participate in morning projects. Lunch is provided. In the afternoon, you will go with your partner and share your faith as you go. Tonight, there will be final services in each participating church, following a plan similar to the previous days.
  • Thursday, March 11
This is a day for a big venture. We will go by bus, with some of our hosts, to visit some neat places around Magdeburg. After exploring all day, there will be services at your partner church.
  • Friday, March 12
This is your last day to connect with the people of your city and to share your faith. There will be a big student rally in Magdeburg to celebrate what God will have done during the week.
  • Saturday, March 13
We all get up early and meet at the train station to catch our train to Hanover. From there, we fly to London and then back to Dallas (where we clear customs), arriving about 4:00 pm. We return to McKinney with a sense of accomplishment and obedience and joy for what we will have seen the Lord do this week!

Relationship with the SBC International Mission Board (IMB)

The local churches in Germany have invited you to come and the missionaries will be pleased to see you add your witness to theirs. Travel health insurance is provided by the IMB for all volunteers and the cost is included in the program. This is a cooperative venture with the IMB and will be assigned a Project Number.

Costs and payments

Every effort has been made to keep the costs as low as possible. The cost includes preparation, air travel, bus, homes for accommodations and all meals. Consequently your place is not reserved until a $100 non-refundable deposit has been received by December 3rd. All payments are non-refundable! Payments due on January 3rd - $200.00; February 3rd - $200.00 and the final balance of $250.00 is due March 3rd. After 50 people have paid their deposit and attended the preparation meetings, a waiting list will be set up for late signup and a $200 deposit is required to be put on that first-come, first-served waiting list.

This mission effort is a tax-deductible donation for tax-purposes. All checks should be made out to First Baptist Church of McKinney.
